Rhode Island Registered Agent ("we," "us," "our") operates riregisteredagent.org (the "Site") and provides Rhode Island resident agent service (the "Service"). This page covers what we collect while running that service and what happens to it.

Information We Collect

Directly from you, when you enroll, reach out to support, or otherwise interact with us:

• Name, email, phone number, and any correspondence details you give us for your entity
• Entity information — business name, entity type, and details tied to your Rhode Island Secretary of State filing
• Payment details, processed through our third-party payment processor; we don't retain full card numbers ourselves
• Anything you send us by email, phone, or through the contact form

Automatically, while you're browsing the Site:

• Pages viewed, time spent, and referring source
• Device and browser type, plus a general location estimate drawn from IP address
• Cookies and similar technology that keep the Site working and let us understand usage

What We Do With It

• Run the resident agent service — accepting, scanning, and delivering documents to your dashboard and inbox
• Process enrollment and your annual renewal billing
• Send deadline reminders and service notices, including alerts ahead of Rhode Island's February 1–May 1 annual report window
• Answer support requests
• Keep the Site and Service running and improving
• Meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to our business

Who We Share It With

We don't sell your information. It only moves in specific situations:

• Service vendors — payment processing, hosting, and email delivery partners that keep the Service operating
• State agencies, strictly where our role as resident agent requires it, such as your filing with the Rhode Island Secretary of State
• Legal process — court orders, subpoenas, or other compulsory requests

Security

We apply reasonable technical and procedural safeguards to whatever you share with us. No system connected to the internet is completely risk-free, so we can't promise absolute security — only real, ongoing effort to protect it.

Cookies

Cookies support core Site functionality and help us see how the Site gets used. You can limit or clear cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect how well some features work.

Your Rights

Depending on where you're located, you may be able to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that's inaccurate
• Request deletion of your data, subject to what we're required to keep
• Opt out of non-service marketing communications

The Site sometimes links elsewhere — to the Rhode Island Secretary of State's portal, for example. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, how other sites handle your information.

Children

The Service is built for business use and isn't directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Revisions will be posted here with a new effective date.
